Summit Lake State Park New Castle, Indiana

We decided on the spur of the moment to get one more camping trip in before Bob goes back on the air on September 8. Labor Day weekend would be full at every campground, so we chose the tail end of August. It occurred to us that we had heard my sister mention a nice State Park near New Castle, which is less than an hour from our house. I went online and reserved two spaces and our plan was set!

Because we were eager to see what our sites were like, we drove our Jeeps over one afternoon to check the place out, then continued over the state line to Greenville, Ohio to enjoy Maid-Rite sandwiches, a family favorite from our childhood in Illinois.
