Oh, what a leisurely morning! We drank our coffee outdoors at the picnic table, although the high humidity level made us think about it for a bit! As we lounged around the campsite, we had some visitors come by to see our Airstream. Apparently it’s a common misconception that Airstreams are no longer made…although they are made right here in Ohio, it seems many people aren’t aware. So we gave a quick tour of the June Bug to two couples who were pleasantly surprised. It made our morning to be able to show it off!
We decided to take a trip into Cincinnati (about an hour drive) and enjoyed lunch at one of our favorite local spots: Dewey’s Pizza. Man, oh, man they have great food. Their creative salads and homemade dressings are worth making an effort to go there. www.deweyspizza.com
While we dined, Bob was recognized by lots of the patrons, and we thoroughly enjoyed saying hello to so many fans of The Bob and Tom Show. But the BEST surprise was a group who came up to our table and practically shouted, “June Bug Journeys!!”…oh, that really made me happy. It’s so fun to know that people actually do read about our little adventures with the Airstream.
After lunch we drove out to Jungle Jims, a craaaazy, enormous grocery store with two locations in the area. The decor is something to see, and the groceries come from all over the world. We browsed through every aisle, loading our cart with items we didn’t even know we needed!! Naturally, Bob had to buy some Yuengling beer, since we are unable to buy it in Indiana. That should make some of our family members happy (I’m talking to you, Frank!).
After we got back to the campground we decided to do a little work, if you can call it that…removing dead leaves that had accumulated behind the rock guards over the front windows.
