Early this morning we had delicious sausage links and homemade pancakes made on the Coleman stove. The best part of the breakfast was the bourbon barrel matured maple syrup! So, so good, with just a hint of oak and bourbon flavor. Very expensive, but worth it for a special treat once in a while.
Marty Brennaman, Hall of Fame voice of the Cincinnati Reds, hosts an annual golf tournament benefitting the Reds Community Fund. Bob and I are involved with the charity and look forward to this tournament every year. Today was the first round of golf, and the weather was spectacular. While Bob was golfing, I found a few things to keep myself occupied….
I watched NFL football on a series of screens in the Belterra hotel restaurant “Stadium”, but didn’t enjoy it because although they have many screens with a huge selection of games, the sounds is turned off, and it’s a strange way to watch a game. Silence?! So I hopped in the tow vehicle and drove around the area listening via SiriusXM. Highway 156 is called the Ohio River Scenic Byway for good reason. I enjoyed a lovely drive and got to hear the New England Patriots LOSE! That contributed to a lovely afternoon.
After the golf round, everyone gathers in the ballroom for a nice dinner, silent auction, and quite a rousing Reds discussion, led by Marty B.
