We have 6 large RVs and trailers parked together in a paved lot directly across the street from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We have decided to name our spot “Checkerboard Square”! There will be terrific meals each night for supper and big, delicious breakfasts every morning. There should be a total of 21 folks for every meal, so we brought several tables and picnic tables to fit the crowd. This lot is projected to be full by the day before the race.
Friday morning The Bob & Tom Show broadcast from the track behind the world-famous Pagoda and we enjoyed some of the party atmosphere at the track for Carb Day. Saturday is a free day to eat, eat, eat and nap, nap, nap. Of course, Sunday is the big race, and Bob will be doing “Man on the Street” interviews as the race fans walk by our campground on their way into the track.
