Bob took the month of July off from the radio show and we decided to take a camping trip, for the very first time EVER!  We hitched the Jeep up to the Steely Van and took off for a journey through Ohio into Pennsylvania. It was so much fun planning the trip, loading the RV, and actually pulling out of the driveway without hotel reservations!

Our first stop was Cincinnati. We parked the Steely Van at Winton Woods, a beautiful urban campground maintained through the “Great Parks of Hamilton County”. Of course we had no experience camping and chose the campground simply based on its location and proximity to Great American Ballpark, about 20 minutes away. The park is full of trees, with nice concrete pads and full hookups. That evening we had our first experience at meeting fellow campers. We had no idea how friendly people would be, and were so thrilled! Almost everybody who strolled past our campsite wanted to peek inside the Mercedes Interstate. Apparently they are not seen much out in the campgrounds of America.

A little Jiffy Pop for our evening snack. The propane stove got used for the first time, and man, oh, man it was fun popping that corn!
