We had a gorgeous morning for hooking up the June Bug, loading all the gear, and hitting the road for the 6 hour drive to Montgomery Bell State Park in Tennessee.
Our GPS took us through a lovely mountain road with tight hairpin turns, and although quite scenic, one of the turns took a bite out of one of our tires. We discovered it after backing into Site Number 102 and getting out to make sure everything was level.
Bob was able to access the spare tire but unable to get the lug nuts off, so our next door campsite neighbor Will volunteered to drive into town for his Milwaukee impact wrench. Easy-peasy, tire changed! So now I know what I’ll be getting Bob for Father’s Day. (shh…don’t tell him.)
Although having a flat tire was a big drag, we felt like it happened in the best possible way…we were already backed into our beautiful campsite and had a really helpful neighbor standing by and willing to help.
